Resource: The Roots of a Neighbourhood - Common Good

Common Good serves as a kind of showcase and narrative engine for what B Corps can do. It gives visibility (stories, inspiration) to the many ways businesses certified by B Lab are going beyond “just business.” The series Common Good deeply resonates with me, especially in light of themes explored. It doesn’t just ask: What can businesses achieve? — it challenges us to consider: What should they strive for? It highlights the urgency of responsibility — to communities, ecosystems, and to future generations.

This connects directly to what B Corp represents: a framework demanding accountability not only for profits, but for people and planet. B Corp certification ensures that values like transparency, fairness, environmental stewardship, and community wellbeing aren’t just ideals, but embedded into day-to-day business operations — from governance, through supply chain choices, to worker welfare.

For me, Common Good is a call to action. They remind me that creativity and business aren’t separate — they interlock, offering powerful tools to shape a more equitable and sustainable world.
